Artist Statement:
Morphology spans 3D-printed ceramic vessels, wall-mounted sculptures, and digital prints on paper, blending traditional craft with contemporary tools. My process begins in a virtual space, where I use techniques of sampling and manipulation to splice and reconstruct forms. Shapes are endlessly modified before they take physical form through 3D-printed clay, with layered surfaces that mimic woven textiles and create optical effects through repeated, overlapping layers.
This exploration continues in my digital prints, where manipulated wireframes of 3D models appear to both form and dissolve, examining the relationship between line and form as volumes and surfaces transform. Throughout these works, I explore themes of containment, using vessel forms that shift focus from utility to perceptual experience.
The ceramic vase forms are spliced into modular sections, allowing for a hybridization of shapes and surfaces that can be stacked and combined in unexpected ways. A variety of earth tones emerge from clays sourced globally, including local clays, grounding these pieces in both material history and digital innovation. Through this blend of digital and physical processes, a dialogue forms between tradition and new methods of creation.
