OVERVIEW:

Hodges Taylor, a project-based consulting firm in Charlotte, North Carolina, is excited to announce the return of our Open Call for Projects! After a successful inaugural call, we’re once again inviting innovative proposals to utilize our versatile gallery space for a minimum duration of one to six months between March and August 2025.

This open call offers individuals, groups, and organizations from diverse fields the opportunity to activate our centrally located space in South End, Charlotte. With light rail access just a block away, our space is positioned in one of the city’s most vibrant neighborhoods.

Whether you’re an entrepreneur, innovator, community leader, or creative thinker, this opportunity is open to anyone with a compelling vision for utilizing our space. We welcome proposals from both local and out-of-state organizers, though applicants must be prepared to fully staff their project proposal.

Projects we’re open to include, but are not limited to:

– Exhibitions and installations
– Collaborative or experimental projects
– Creative office or retail and pop-ups
– Entrepreneurial or community initiatives

 

TO APPLY:

Send an email outlining your idea to info@hodgestaylor.com. Be sure to include:

– A brief description of your project
– Proposed dates (one month minimum, between March and August 2025.)

 

WHAT ELSE SHOULD YOU KNOW

– Fee structure. Fee will be structured according to project duration and scope.
– Finalists. An initial meeting will be scheduled with finalists to learn more about their idea. This will be scheduled as proposals are submitted.
– The Space. Approximately 1800 square feet of retail space are available.
– Operations. Project team members will have 24/7 access to Hodges Taylor gallery. However, access is not for public events, which must be coordinated with Hodges Taylor in advance.
– Staffing. Organizers will be responsible for staffing all aspects of their project. Hodges Taylor will not offer staffing support.
– Installation. Projects must be set up and removed within designated times. All alterations need prior approval, and the space must be returned to its original condition post-project.
– Insurance. Hodges Taylor will require a Certificate of Insurance from project organizers in keeping with the proposed scope and use.
